Job description

As a Junior UI and Graphic Designer, assist in the creation of innovative design solutions for startups and SMEs. You will work closely with our Senior Designer to develop UI/UX and graphic design elements that align with strategic marketing goals. Grow your skills in a collaborative, high-energy environment where creativity meets strategy, contributing to the iterative design process and implementing feedback from team members. Engage in continuous learning and help manage design assets and resources to deliver cohesive and impactful designs.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the design and development of UI/UX for digital assets, ensuring consistency with established guidelines and brand standards.
  2. Support the creation of graphic design elements for marketing materials, including but not limited to infographics, social media graphics, and promotional items.
  3. Participate in client and internal meetings to gather design requirements and feedback, translating them into actionable design tasks.
  4. Contribute to the iterative design process by implementing feedback from the senior designer and other team members.
  5. Help manage design assets and resources, ensuring they are organised and accessible for team use.
  6. Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest design trends and tools, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes.
  7. Assist in tracking and reporting on the effectiveness of design elements in achieving marketing objectives.

Tools you will use

At Noodle, we utilise a suite of tools and software to ensure seamless collaboration, efficient project management, and high-quality output for our clients. Below is a brief overview of the tools we use and why they are essential to our operations. If you have experience in these tools it would be a plus.

  1. Notion: Our central hub for knowledge management, project tracking, and internal wikis. It helps us organise information, manage tasks, and streamline workflows across the team, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
  2. Slack: Our primary platform for quick communication, both internally and externally. Slack enables us to collaborate in real-time, share updates, and maintain an open line of communication with clients and team members, fostering a dynamic and responsive work environment.
  3. Google Workspace: We rely on Google Workspace for document creation, storage, and collaboration. Tools like Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Google Colab facilitate efficient data management, collaborative editing, and seamless sharing of information.
  4. Webflow: Our go-to tool for marketing website development. Webflow allows us to design, build, and launch responsive websites quickly, providing our clients with high-quality, visually appealing online presences.
  5. Figma: Essential for design and prototyping, Figma enables our team to create, iterate, and collaborate on design projects in real-time. It helps us deliver precise and engaging design solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.
  6. Canva: Used for creating quick animated materials and social media posts, Canva offers a user-friendly interface and a wide range of templates. It’s perfect for producing high-quality visual content efficiently.
  7. HubSpot: Our CRM of choice for managing client relationships and sales processes. HubSpot helps us keep track of interactions, automate marketing efforts, and drive business growth through data-driven insights and personalised communication.

What a week would look like?

  1. Monday:
    • Attend the weekly planning meeting to understand the week’s priorities and set goals.
    • Begin working on initial sketches and concepts for new design projects.
    • Review design briefs and gather necessary materials and resources.
  2. Tuesday:
    • Participate in the morning stand-up meeting to provide updates and outline tasks for the day.
    • Develop UI components and graphics under the guidance of the Senior Designer.
    • Collaborate with the development team to ensure design elements are feasible and align with technical specifications.
  3. Wednesday:
    • Join the stand-up meeting to discuss progress and receive feedback from the senior designer.
    • Continue refining and finalising graphic design elements for on-going materials.
    • Participate in a design review session to present work and incorporate feedback.
  4. Thursday:
    • Attend the stand-up meeting to address any design challenges and adjust plans as needed.
    • Test and optimise designs for usability and responsiveness across different devices.
    • Work on organising and archiving design assets in Notion for team access and reference.
  5. Friday:
    • Participate in the stand-up meeting to review the week’s accomplishments and set preliminary goals for the next week.
    • Finalise design tasks and implement any last-minute adjustments or enhancements.
    • Prepare a brief report on the week’s design activities, highlighting progress and areas for improvement. Engage in self-directed learning to stay updated on the latest design trends and tools.

Job requirements

  1. Up to 2 years of experience in UI/UX and graphic design, internships or project work in a marketing or advertising setting a plus.
  2. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, Figma or Canva.
  3. A foundational understanding of design principles and a keen eye for detail.
  4. Good communication and organisational skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Ability to take direction well and work collaboratively with a senior designer and other team members.
